Andrew Bindman, MD, is a senior advisor in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he has contributed to developing Medicare’s payment policy related to chronic care management. Dr. Bindman is also a primary care physician at San Francisco General Hospital and a professor of medicine, health policy, epidemiology, and biostatistics, at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He is an experienced health services researcher who has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles evaluating the impact of health policies on access to and quality of care. Dr. Bindman received his MD degree from the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
