Elna Nagasako, MD, PhD, MPH, is a faculty member in the Division of General Medical Sciences in the Department of Internal Medicine at Washington University. She is working in collaboration with BJC HealthCare's Center for Clinical Excellence on projects to improve transitions of care between hospitals and community settings through both administrative data research and qualitative research on social factors affecting health outcomes. She also teaches medical residents at the Barnes-Jewish Center for Outpatient Health primary care clinic.

As a 2011-2012 Mongan Commonwealth Fund Fellow in Minority Health Policy at Harvard Medical School, she worked with the consumer advocacy organization Community Catalyst on the issue of meaningful patient input into health system innovations. She previously served as the founding director of the Global Health Scholars in Medicine program at Washington University School of Medicine.

Dr. Nagasako received her MD degree from Washington University, a PhD degree from the University of Rochester, and an MPH degree from the Harvard School of Public Health. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
