Hilary Dalin is director, policy and technical assistance, for the Benefits Access Group at the National Council on Aging. Ms. Dalin provides education, training, and technical assistance to benefits counselors and works on policy issues related to low-income Medicare beneficiaries. She also moderates the online community for professionals and volunteers who work with Medicare beneficiaries (www.MyMedicareCommunity.org. Ms. Dalin co-teaches the Health Rights Clinic at the George Washington University School of Law. Previously, she managed legal services for elders programs in New York and Connecticut. She is a former chair of the Connecticut Bar Association Elder Law Section. She received her law degree from the Boston University School of Law and began her career advocating for elders as a VISTA volunteer with a legal services program that initiated one of the first pilot legal services for the elderly projects to respond to the federalization of public assistance benefits for elders and younger adults with disabilities.
