Pattie Bondurant, MN, RN, is director of the Beacon Program for HealthBridge, a nonprofit health information organization in Cincinnati. She has overall program responsibility for the $13.75 million grant award for the Greater Cincinnati Beacon Collaboration. She joined the staff of HealthBridge in 2010. Prior to that, Ms. Bondurant served in a variety of roles at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), consistently ranked as one of the top five children’s hospitals in the nation. Under her leadership, CCHMC’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) went more than 1,000 days without a safety incident, a remarkable achievement in quality according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Ms. Bondurant joined CCHMC in 1997 as a clinical nurse specialist. She served as the clinical lead on a hospital-wide effort to reduce pressure ulcers and ventilator-acquired pneumonia in intensive care units and was the lead faculty consultant for the reduction of ventilator-acquired pneumonia in NICUs across a large hospital system. Ms. Bondurant is a doctoral candidate at Waynesburg University, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. She received her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Washington and her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Skidmore College.
